Additional information
Stephan Pfister is a Professor at ETH Zurich in the Ecological Systems Design group. His methodological focus is on the impact assessment of water consumption, land use and biodiversity loss in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Multi-Regional Input-Output Analysis (MRIO). Stephan's work is highly interdisciplinary, with applications spanning multiple sectors including agriculture and forestry, material extraction and processing, as well as power production.
In this context, he advanced water footprint concepts, including future scenario analyses and assessment of international trade. He received his PhD from the ETH Zurich in 2011, did a one-year post-doc at UC Santa Barbara in 2011 and has published more than 100 original research papers.
