Additional information

Magdalena Klotz (born in 1991 in Bozen, Italy) has been a PhD student at the Chair of Ecological Systems Design of ETH since autumn 2018. She holds a master degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Munich, which she obtained after her bachelor studies of energy technology and process engineering at the same university. She had the chance to gain some practical experience in the work at research institutions and in industry in the course of her one and a half year employment at NEVS in Sweden between her master and PhD studies, the conduction of her master thesis at two Fraunhofer institutes, an exchange year at the university of Bologna, Italy, as well as among others internships at the Bavarian Center for Applied Energy Research (ZAE Bayern) and the BiPRO consultancy during her studies. In her current research she models and assesses plastics material flows in Switzerland using Material Flow Analysis and Life Cycle Assessment with the goal to develop future scenarios with minimum environmental impact by establishing clean material cycles in the context of the Clean Cycle Project.
