Waste Managment, Sustainable Resource Use

Maja Wiprächtiger (born 1992) graduated with a Masters in Environmental Engineering from ETH Zurich in 2017 and started her PhD at the Ecological Systems Design group in February 2018. Her PhD project ‘TACLE - Towards A sustainable CircuLar Economy’ focused on the environmental assessment of the Swiss economy by combining material flow analysis (MFA) and life cycle assessment (LCA). The project was embedded in the National Research Project (NRP) 73 (www.nrp73.ch) and had the aim to environmentally but also socio-economically (this is done in collaboration with the Group for Sustainability and Technology at ETH Zurich) assess the Swiss economy and in the end give recommendations how to improve its circularity and sustainability.
